APED: Logistics efficiency in retail effectiveness

The Portuguese Association of Distribution Companies (APED) brings together 197 companies in the food and non-food retail, wholesale and e-commerce sectors, representing more than 11% of Portugal’s GDP. Its activity is guided by the creation of value for consumers, in a dynamic sector with constant challenges that require investment in innovation, digitalisation, sustainability and in people, who are the sector’s greatest asset. Thus, all the activity carried out involves constant innovation and anticipation of trends in four strategic and priority areas: People, Sustainability, Future Economy and Competitiveness and Ethics. Retail, whatever its size, is a business of efficiencies. Logistics is a fundamental link for the success of business in food and specialised retail. It is in this perspective, with very current examples also in the logic of sustainability, that APED will make its presentation.
