About us
We specialize in packaging and packaging materials. We have about 50 years of experience and work with all sectors of activity. We have test laboratories, perform material characterization tests, packaging validation, transport simulation and food compatibility. We are available to help evaluate the performance of the two packages.
We are a non-profit association considered for public use.
Products
Distribution and Environmental Testing
Products need to be validated before they are launched to ensure they are fit for purpose. The same is true for the packaging. Laboratory distribution testing are controllable and repeatable, consistent assessment over time. All trial pallets or other packages, are exposed to the same tests. Complete control over test intensity and replication of different environments, provides confidence in expected pack performance. The tests can be conducted with as small or large quantities of product as you have available. The tests could be done in one box or a pallet. CNE provides package and distribution testing solutions to help reduce shipment damage, troubleshoot packaging and supply chain issues, identify cost reduction opportunities and help meet sustainability requirements.
Material testing
Materials must be evaluated under a wide variety of conditions to understand the full implications of applying it to a product or packaging design. How a material withstands environmental exposure, physical impact or interaction with other materials will all determine their suitability for selection.

Food contact material
Migration testing is often required to demonstrate that a material complies with the migration limits set out in food contact regulations. Migration limits in food vary depending on material and region. CNE can help you to prove your materials are compliant for food contact, accordance the legislation. For materials not yet covered by specific EU legislation such as adhesives, inks and paper we can guide you through national legislation and with other technical documents. Regulation 10/2011 requires that safety assessments are carried out on non-intentionally added substances and non-listed substances (NIAS). CNE conducts migration studies and evaluations on NIAS originating from impurities, reaction products, recycling and other treatments. With recycled materials increasingly incorporated into packages, NIAS assessments are an essential step in achieving compliance.
Product testing
Our laboratory testing includes physical, functional, and chemistry testing for products, medical devices, luer fittings and connectors, and others. From concept, material selection, design for manufacture, manufacture, packaging (primary and secondary) through to the distribution testing for supply chain validation.
