Migration testing is often required to demonstrate that a material complies with the migration limits set out in food contact regulations. Migration limits in food vary depending on material and region.

CNE can help you to prove your materials are compliant for food contact, accordance the legislation. For materials not yet covered by specific EU legislation such as adhesives, inks and paper we can guide you through national legislation and with other technical documents.

Regulation 10/2011 requires that safety assessments are carried out on non-intentionally added substances and non-listed substances (NIAS). CNE conducts migration studies and evaluations on NIAS originating from impurities, reaction products, recycling and other treatments. With recycled materials increasingly incorporated into packages, NIAS assessments are an essential step in achieving compliance.
