Innovative air cushion solution with recycled paper

FROMM Embalagem recently launched the Airpad Paper system on the Portuguese market: innovative and more sustainable air cushions made from recycled paper. This solution is developed with an “innovative material made from paper and intended for filling, protecting and packaging products during storage and transport”, the company states.

Airpad Paper is ideal for protecting products, absorbing shocks and filling empty spaces, and is ideal for sending an increasing number of parcels safely. Consisting of 99% air and 1% film/paper, it is available in two variants: Wrap and Fill, with a format of 200x135mm and Protect and Stabilise, with a format of 400x150mm (8 cushions).
As an alternative to plastic air cushions, the new solution brings together “the best of both worlds”: the efficiency of air cushions and a reduction in environmental impact.

Sustainability is one of FROMM’s priorities and its mission is to “Reduce, Reuse and Recycle”. “Reducing resource consumption with greater efficiency, reusing products and recycling and converting materials are our objectives. We do our part conscientiously and will continue to do so in the future. Airpad Paper is a good example of the guidelines of our sustainability vision. It contains 75% recycled paper and can be disposed of together with normal paper waste to be recycled,” says Paulo Lima.
