    3. New regulations on egg marking in Spain

New regulations on egg marking in Spain

What is changing and how can we help you? The Spanish poultry sector is undergoing a significant transformation with the entry into force of Royal Decree 1027/2024, aligned with European regulations. This new regulatory framework, published on October 9, 2024, seeks to strengthen transparency, improve traceability and promote sustainable practices in the marketing of eggs and their packaging. The changes are mandatory from November 8, 2024, granting a short adaptation period for operators in the sector. What changes does the new regulation introduce? Mandatory Marking of Eggs From now on, eggs must be marked at the farm of origin, except for very specific exceptions, such as marking at the first packaging center, provided that traceability is guaranteed by approved control systems. Mandatory information: - Breeding method code (0: organic, 1: free-range, 2: free-range in the henhouse, 3: raised in conditioned cages). - Country of origin code (e.g. “ES” for Spain). - Farm identification number. Exceptions: Producers with less than 50 hens who sell directly to consumers are exempt from marking provided they identify their name and address at the point of sale. Packaging Labelling The regulations reinforce labelling requirements, ensuring that consumers can make informed choices: - Mandatory indications on weight, avoiding mixing egg sizes in the same package. - Possibility of including optional mentions on the feeding of hens, such as “cereal-based feeding”, provided they comply with the required percentages. - Introduction of specific labelling for flavoured eggs, indicating the flavours or ingredients used

    4. Pallet Dusseldorf, a perfect ally for large distribution

Pallet Dusseldorf, a perfect ally for large distribution

The Dusseldorf pallet is characterized by being made from wood, which provides all the benefits of pallets made from this type of material: long useful life (with the possibility of being repaired), good value for money, they are light and resistant, and their recycling is very easy and simple. Another of its most notable features is that it has exterior supports made of galvanized steel and central interior cylindrical posts with recycled plastic coating, which makes it the ideal support to facilitate the picking of high-turnover products, and to be used as a base for heavy merchandise. For this reason, it is usually used for the flow of goods between the mass consumption industry and retail trade, including large sales outlets, since its measurements (half a European pallet, 600x800mm) facilitate the distribution and delivery of the exact amount of merchandise needed based on consumer demand. All those companies that belong to the food and agri-food industry, as well as large distribution, are some of the recipients of this high-performance pallet, which can be used both as a transport base and as a storage support in displays directly at the point of sale. Furthermore, as it has 4 entrances, it is a pallet that is very practical in all warehouse operations, since it is manipulable and compatible with all types of logistics and goods transfer equipment.

    6. PROFILGATE - AGVs EFFICIENT CLEANING

      PROFILGATE - AGVs EFFICIENT CLEANING

Industry 4.0 relies on automation. We go along. The use of automated guided vehicles (AGVs) requires safe operation because malfunctions in the system lead to downtime, which in turn has a negative impact on the entire operational process. The right control system, regular maintenance, but also a clean track area and thus an undamaged hall floor ensure the smooth operation of the vehicles. We have made the latter our task. Our goal was to develop a model that 1) Can be integrated into existing transport routes 2) Is suitable for any navigation method and 3) Cleans the rollers reliably. This has resulted in the new xs series - a clean driving zone especially for very narrow rollers of AGVs. The brush grate is particularly close-meshed, so that the surface is as smooth as possible and the AGV rollers have maximum contact. This ensures a smooth and low-vibration crossing. On one hand, this is important to protect vibration-sensitive goods such as microchips, and on the other hand, to ensure that vehicles can orient themselves without interference. The rollers are cleaned purely mechanically during the crossing - no intermediate stop is required! The model is suitable for vehicles with a maximum weight of 40 t and is available in two versions: 1) Model xs55 with dirt collection reservoir of 10mm for up to 100 passes per day. 2) Model xs65 with a larger dirt collection reservoir of 20 mm for more than 100 passes per day. Installing the new ProfilGate® system in the production and warehouse environment reduces dirt carryover, decreases roller abrasion and floor wear while saving follow-up costs. 7. PROFILGATE - DUST FREE LOGISTICS

      PROFILGATE - DUST FREE LOGISTICS

Logistics manager Lorenzo Barbieri, recognizing the importance of a dust-free warehouse, sought a solution to not only remove dust but also prevent its entry. He found ProfilGate, which elevated the presentation and appearance standards in the biomedical sector. Medica Group's logistics specialist, Barbieri, praised the system for saving time and labor by eliminating the need to clean boxes before shipping. Barbieri's warehouse at the Mirandola plant faced a historical dust problem due to constant traffic. Initial attempts with cleaning equipment proved insufficient, leading Barbieri to seek a more effective solution. After extensive research and collaboration with Collini Sistemi, the Italian distributor of ProfilGate, Barbieri decided to install the mechanical cleaning field. The system's embedded stainless-steel tray, steel grate, and brush strips efficiently removed dust and coarser dirt from shoe soles, tires, and rollers. Professionally installing ProfilGate into the floor presented some initial challenges, but with Collini Sistemi's support, they overcame them. The result was a significant reduction in dirt ingress, enhanced cleanliness, and improved presentation in the warehouse. ProfilGate's mechanical operation, eliminating the need for electricity or manual intervention, proved to be the ideal solution for Medica Group's logistics, ensuring a clean and dust-free environment.

    8. Raptor - cuts AirCushions as needed

Raptor - cuts AirCushions as needed

The Raptor cuts off the desired number of air cushion pads/mats. After cutting, the individual sections can be held by the Raptor (Cut & Hold) or they fall one after the other into a collection container and can then be used in the optimum length for packaging. There is also a foot pedal that starts production when pressed and stops production when released. This ensures that you get exactly the amount of air cushioning that the packer needs for the next package. The height of the Raptor is variable, and the format and number of cushions/mats can also be adjusted on a magnetic touch display that is attached directly to the packing station. The entire unit, consisting of the Raptor and the air cushion machine, is mounted on a roll container and delivered as such. Using a Raptor increases the packing speed by eliminating the need for manual separation.
