    6. Solve the multipack challenge with multiple filling stations

Solve the multipack challenge with multiple filling stations

Expedition meals are vital elements in e.g. the hiker’s pack. The food must deliver high calorie content, vitamins, and minerals. The meals should be tasty, as eating sufficiently is vital to keep up energy, avoid exhaustion, frostbite and hypothermia. Adding delicious energy bars, accessories like cutlery and tissues, as well as personal care items like dental floss or gum brings welcome convenience into a situation which is often extraordinary. Field adapted meal solutions since 2014 Swedish Outmeals have been in the market since 2014 as an independent provider of easy-to-eat and prepare meals. These are wet or dry, also including vegetarian solutions, lactose and gluten free products as well as halal meals. Outmeals do not produce, but focus on searching the world for the best possible products for their rations. Growing demand called for flexibility in the packing process With deliveries to private consumers, companies, non-governmental and governmental organizations like fire departments, police services and military units, Outmeals’ product range is extremely wide. And with growing demand, the company had to realize capacity issues and a need for a more organized and systematic approach to the packing flow. A systematic packing flow Mr Pelle Höckerbo, CEO, says: “The Schur®Star Concept enabled us to streamline the flow and reduce our staffing. Our packing machine has an adaptable filling line that can hold up to ten filling stations. So each item is packed from a different station. In the machine, the bags open to their full width. This gives our operators both hands free to place the items accurately in the bag. With this systemization we prevent errors, interruptions of the flow, and downtime. And we can man the number of filling stations individually, to match the number of items for the specific job. The flexibility is unique.”

    7. Success story: Euskopack for Rotor

      Success story: Euskopack for Rotor

Rotor Bike Components is a Madrid-based bicycle parts manufacturer founded in 1994. A leader in its sector, Rotor applies advanced technology to enhance the cycling experience: it works with top bicycle brands and professional cyclists and world champions to develop its parts. Innovation and engineering combine to create solutions that take the sport and the pleasure of cycling to the next level. Rotor approached Euskopack to find the ideal packaging for its range of components. The packaging needed to offer the perfect balance between protection and sustainability. They were looking for packaging with robust and secure features to guarantee that these parts would arrive anywhere in the world in pristine condition. But they also needed sustainable, responsible packaging that aligned with Rotor's philosophy: no frills, no fuss, high performance without artifice. After assessing all the needs of their products and their sustainability requirements, we found the perfect packaging solution for the parts they were looking for. Our most versatile box, Egavan, allowed them to standardize formats. The company went from using a different box for each part to using just a few sizes, achieving significant savings in costs and storage, as well as a substantial reduction in waste. Because Egavan is made of 100% recyclable and reusable cardboard, it perfectly aligns with Rotor philosophy and fits all Rotor products like a glove. In this way, Rotor can ship its parts with confidence anywhere in the world and convey to its customers (the #ROTORians) its conviction that excellence, versatility, and sustainability are not mutually exclusive. Some of the packaging models for parts that Euskopack manufactures for Rotor products can be seen in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6YZbUO2ICyw

    8. Sustainability at the heart of everything

Sustainability at the heart of everything

Sustainability is at the core of Rotom Portugal’s operations, which for 17 years has contributed to national logistics from Valado dos Frades. Pallets, crates and containers are not just transport supports: they involve planning, cost impact and ESG reporting. The company promotes pallet rental and buy-back, avoiding waste and supporting the circular economy. As the only company in Portugal licensed to repair Europallets, it ensures strict standards that protect workers and extend material lifespan. Awarded the EcoVadis Bronze certification, Rotom focuses on wood reuse and decarbonisation, aligning with the PRR and the EU Deforestation Regulation. It works only with legally certified suppliers, guarantees traceability and provides FSC® or PEFC™ certified pallets upon request. The company invests in technology to maximise reuse: biomass shredders, kiln conversion to clean energy, wood recovery machinery and a robot capable of producing up to 400 pallets daily. It is also preparing the migration to Microsoft Dynamics 365 with real-time metrics. In the market, Rotom Portugal benefits from knowledge sharing within the Rotom Group, which has acquired several companies and maintains horizontal communication. Under interim CEO Frank Weermeijer, the 2025–2030 strategy strengthens the focus on circular wooden pallet solutions, repair and recovery, aiming to become Europe’s leading provider in the sector. Miguel Correia sees a promising future, with trends such as EPAL pallet QR codes and base expansion. Wood remains the main raw material for its strength and reusability, but demand for plastic and metal is growing. With versatility and environmental commitment, Rotom aims to remain at the forefront of sustainable logistics.

    9. Sustainability in Industrial Coding

      Sustainability in Industrial Coding

Sustainability in industrial coding refers to the ability to implement practices and technologies that minimize environmental impact and promote energy efficiency in production and product marking processes. There are several ways to achieve sustainability in industrial coding, some of them are: - Waste reduction: reduce the amount of waste generated during the marking process. To do this, coding techniques can be used that minimize the use of ink and labels, such as laser coding or inkjet marking directly on the product. - Use of sustainable materials: This may include the use of recycled paper, water-based, MEK-free inks and other biodegradable materials and changing label marking to marking directly on the product. - Energy efficiency: Implementing technologies and processes that promote energy efficiency in industrial coding can help reduce environmental impact: use of low energy consumption technologies, such as the new Inkjet UX2, thanks to the design of the pump, energy consumption of the printer in use is one of the lowest, at only 73VA. - Recycling: Promoting the recycling of materials used in the marking process and the proper disposal of waste can help reduce environmental impact. For example, Inkjet ink and solvent bottles are completely recyclable, they consume every last drop and the plastic can be recycled in the yellow container, without having to resort to expensive recycling processes. - Responsible supply chain management: We ensure that our suppliers and supply chain partners meet sustainable and ethical standards. At Trébol group we have a commitment to society and the environment and our objective is to contribute to social, economic and environmental improvement for society as a whole.
